Job Description:
- Reading and interpreting drawings to determine job requirements.
- Calculating dimensions and tolerances accurately.
- Completing fabrication activities, including prepping, oxy cutting, bevelling, grinding, squaring, and assembly of steel to meet client specifications.
- Measuring and checking completed parts to ensure they conform to specifications.
- Fabricate chassis and frame for modular building.
- Fabricate Fixed Plant Machinery.
- Performing welding of steel components in all positions, utilizing techniques such as FCAW, GTAW (Tig), GMAW (Mig) and SMAW (Stick).
- Providing support and guidance to trainees and apprentices as required to complete work activities.
- Setting high standards of performance, ensuring tasks are completed to the required quality standards and within specified timeframes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
- Can weld using FCAW (1G-4G), GMAW (1F-4F) process, GTAW and SMAW.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and welding principles.
- Can read and interpret drawings such as blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Trade qualification with Cert III in Heavy Fabrication Is an advantage.
- Experience fabricating fixed plant machinery and structural steel.
- Experience with operating power tools and heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of Occupational, Health and Welfare Act and application to the workplace.
- Forklift ticket highly regarded.
- Ability to guide and mentor trainees and apprentices.
- Must have a driver’s license.
